We have allexperienced receiving an invitation that tells us what the dress code is, yetfor some people, that is of little help. If you are always wondering whether ornot you can wear your favourite outfit to an event, here is a detailed look atwomen’s dress codes.

  • Dressy Casual This allowsyou to wear basically what you like, as long as it looks like it belongs onyou, and with your choice of jewellery and accessories, you have the freedom toexpress your personality.

  • Smart Casual – A step above dressy casual, this dress code would be suitable for the office party or a business lunch, where you can wear a pencil skirt or dress pants, with a smart top and finishthe look with a pair of high heel shoes. The word “smart” means those tornjeans and sneakers will have to wait until another day, yet as it is casual, you should always feel comfortable.
  • Country Club Casual – The type of outfit that you wouldnormally wear to a country club would include a simple blouse, smart fittedpants or a tennis shirt, and, of course a knee length (or longer) skirt. Lightcolours and lightweight fabrics are the order of the day, along withcomfortable footwear that is suitable for outdoors. For a more detaileddescription of the dress codes, there are related articles on the subject thatyou can find online.
  • Dressy Resort – This dress code is all about wearing asuitable outfit for the occasion, and it is normally reserved for summerweddings or outdoor social events. A flowing maxi skirt with a bright andflowery pattern is ideal, or you could opt for a flashy jumpsuit, with minimaljewellery and some flat shoes that are comfortable, or sandals if you are onthe beach.

  • Cocktail Attire – For a great example of cocktailattire, check out the 2019 Sherri Hill prom dresses you can get from Peaches Boutique, a leading designer dress online boutique. They only stock the very bestnames and once you have found the ideal cocktail dress, a secure online paymentsees the garment dispatched to your home address.
  • Black Tie – A floor length ball gown with all the trimmings is the order of theday. You might get away with a dressy cocktail gown, depending upon the venue, and this is a time to wear your most expensive jewellery.
  • White Tie – For a woman, this means a full-length gown with opera length gloves andvery flashy jewellery, while wearing your hair in an up style. This is the mostformal of all the dress codes, so be prepared to dress up to the nines, andlast year’s prom dress might be fine, but ask a good friend for her opinionfirst, just to be on the safe side.

The above information should help you to select the right outfit. The main thing is you feeling happy in what you wear, confidence comes from within.

5 Ways To Nail That Promotion

New year, new job? It can be easier than you think to take the next step in your career.

Here are my 5 Ways To Nail That Promotion that will give you a super boost to getting where you want quicker.

1. Blow your own trumpet! Working hard and expecting your line managers to understand or know about all the amazing things you are doing just doesn’t happen. You have to tell them and make it known. Of course you don’t just have a me me me conversation with them, but certainly make them aware of your successes.

2. Ask for opportunities that will demonstrate your skills in the areas that should gain more customers for your business. Your bosses will love to put projects your way that will ultimately benefit them.

3. Keep attendance high. If you fancy that duvet day, plan it! If you’re feeling worn out and need that long weekend there’s no reason why you can’t have it and enjoy it guilt free! That’s what your holiday days are there for, use them wisely and you’ll always have something to look forward to. Bonus Tip: My post time manage your way to happiness may also help;)

4. Let your manager know that when an opportunity for promotion appears, you would like to be considered. Not everyone wants to progress so it’s up to you to tell your senior managers know that you do. They are not mind readers and you don’t want to get overlooked just because you thought they knew. You never know when a good progression opportunity might come along.

5. Don’t get involved in gossip! It’s good to have an idea of what’s going on and it’s human nature to listen to the odd tit bit. However, you don’t want to get a reputation as the gossip spreader, it never goes down well. Keep a healthy distance from it and don’t be afraid to challenge a person if they are being an outrageous liar about a colleague. You’ll gain respect from your peer which will also do you good if you find yourself managing them in the future.

Here are my 5 Ways To Nail That Promotion that will give you a super boost to getting where you want quicker.
make it your own….you can do it!

5 quick quiz questions

How to time manage your way back to happiness

Sounds like a bold statement doesn’t it, surely time management will be a tricky creature to tame!? Well it is, but there is some hope to be able to achieve this……

I started blogging to have an escape and hobby away from my job and the normal stresses that having my chosen career brought my way. Never in a million years did I realise how time-consuming blogging would be. However, for me at least, it is not stressful at all and thankfully it is amazingly relaxing and enjoyable. So even though it’s a great relaxer, it does mean that there are even more things on my plate.

Whether you’re a parent, blogger, career person, stay at home parent, student, none, or a mixture of all of those labels, I bet you all have times when you’ve been juggling loads of tasks and you feel at bursting point.

I have been on quite a few time management workshops over the years to glean a basic understanding of what I should be doing to ease things up with my workload. That doesn’t mean that I always get it right but I do have a couple of tips that you may well find useful.

Click to share these great tips 🙂Click To Tweet

Plan Plan Plan – then when the unexpected jumps out at you, which it normally does, you’ve got some idea of where you were in the day before it all went crazy.

Have ‘thinking’ time – time taken at any point during the day that you can just think about what needs to be done and try to put it into some sort of order. Write in a journal if it helps, or on your phone, whatever you use for jotting things down.

When people offer help, say yes! It can be a big hurdle to overcome but generally when people offer then they mean it. Say yes once in a while and feel the difference it can have on you.

My favourite and the one which has the biggest positive effect on me is….Whether it’s bills, kids letters home from school, letters at home…..touch them only once! Try and carry out all the necessary action with it. It may be to book the dentist appointment or phone in the electric reading. Get it sorted out, then file or bin it. This is by far my biggest time saver and also the one that needs the most willpower to succeed.

Finally, remember – You’re not superhuman, you can rest! Ease up on yourself and celebrate what you have achieved.

There is always tomorrow….

Easy Rocky Road Recipe

I’m going to open with a bold statement today…..this Rocky Road is the best one I’ve tasted! Oh yes our house went into chocolate meltdown when we tried these the morning after I made them.

There are plenty of ways to make this and we gave a couple of them a try before hitting the jackpot with this. So in good myrealfairy tradition, this Easy Rocky Road recipe is the one to share with you.

What you will need is:

300g Milk chocolate

75g Butter

2 tablespoons Golden Syrup

1 cup Marshmallows

1 cup Maltesers

What you need to do is:

EASY ROCKY ROAD RECIPE

Break up the chocolate into pieces so that it melts easier.

EASY ROCKY ROAD RECIPE

Place the butter and chocolate into a saucepan and put on a low heat. This recipe is all about being gentle with the heating, don’t rush it.

EASY ROCKY ROAD RECIPE

Add the 2 tablespoons of golden syrup and stir in while still on the low heat.

EASY ROCKY ROAD RECIPE

As soon as this has all melted together, remove from the heat. Crush the maltesers so that they hold some chunks to them and are not totally bashed to crumbs. Now eat a couple of the maltesers that haven’t been crushed – originally there were many more than shown in this picture, they are too tempting not to eat a few while making this. Go on treat yourself to the cook’s perks:)

rocky road www.myrealfairy.com

Fold in the marshmallows and maltesers to the chocolate mixture. Put into a foil tin or baking tray which has sides to it so that you can get that Rocky Road look to it by having it around 1 inch (2.5cm) high.

EASY ROCKY ROAD RECIPE

Leave in the fridge overnight. In the morning turn out onto a chopping board and cut into cubes. Sprinkle with some icing sugar if you fancy. Product test by having at least a square to yourself with a cuppa before popping into bags if giving as gifts. I suggest leaving in the fridge until needed to keep firm and crunchy.

Let your friends see how easy Rocky Road can be....Click To TweetEASY ROCKY ROAD RECIPE

I’d love to hear how you get on with this recipe, let me know in the comments. Have fun with it and you can print below.

An Introduction to Cherry Crumble

Over the years I have been immersed in the world of boys clothes while keeping up to date with the latest trends for my two growing lads to wear. Whether its running round the garden or going out in their best party gear, the birthdays are getting bigger and the fashion interest is definitely growing.

When Cherry Crumble asked me if I would like to have a look at their range and review a favourite piece I was delighted. My boys at 9 and 12 are now very aware of their fashion tastes and love new clothes. Most of you know my youngest son G who is now growing taller by the second and blossoming into his fashion sense, taking the lead from his big brother. It’s great how he can go from being the  football mad muddy boy into style king!

Cherry Crumble California ranges come in sizes to fit and suit newborns to 12 year olds. Drawing inspiration from sunny California the designers are committed to producing clothes which shine out with style and are super comfortable for our little one to enjoy wearing.

After spending a long time, even for a nine-year old I was surprised at how interested G was in looking through the designs he liked. The range of soft organic cotton t-shirts were popping out of the page with their different colour choices and caught our eye for a long time.

However, as you can see from the pictures, he had his heart firmly set on this yellow and blue check, reversible jacket. The fur side is so soft you just want to snuggle up in it. The collar stands up slightly and keeps the back of the neck warm. The jacket is a slim fit and as G is tall for his age I went for a size up so it fits great and keeps that all important bit of growing room too.

Discount code online:

You can currently receive 20% off your next order when your sign up for the Cherry Crumble emails where you will get exclusive access to new arrivals, special offers, cherry crumble news & more.

What do you think? Are you always on the look out for new brands and clothes to buy for the kids or grandkids?
