Top 10 Surprising Spring jobs….to keep ahead of the pack

1. Sort out my bullet journal! Well it’s a note-book with thousands of tiny luminous post-it notes sticking out at various angles. I’d be hard pushed to decipher what they actually meant. Still, it needs a sort out.

2. Passenger advance information-upcoming holiday and the dreaded online information. The cheaper the airline I book the more work it takes to comply with their small print. note to self: double, then triple check this to avoid check-in meltdown at the airport with children.

3. Travel insurance and  E111 do they still exist, what use are they??? Research – after all…. knowledge is power!

4. Check passports to see if they are still valid…too scared to look (Number 4.5 be braver woman!)

5. Get the boy’s memory boxes sorted – this would be a wonderful job to get behind me. Every time they come home with a certificate or memento they look up at me with cherubic faces and ask for it to go in the memory box. Again, like so many things you’ll read from me, in my head the memory boxes are adorned with cute little drawings and stacked in date order. In reality, well…..it’s a work in progress.

6. Get the jars together for jam making and chutneys – oh yes I’m going for it. I know you’re looking at the points above and thinking there’s not a chance, but I think jam making might just be my thing!!! There’s so many great tasty looking recipes pouring out from my fellow bloggers that I have to give it a real go. Thank you for the pressure all you amazing people;)

I can do this...really, I can!!
I can do this…really, I can!!
7. Book the boys play dates in advance – everyone else manages it so why can’t I? *sobbing*

8. Paint something outside, doesn’t matter what…it’s a spring job. Things need painting!

9. Pack away winter coats but not in the loft yet, who knows what will happen. Brit weather has a mind of its own.

10. Organise an extended family get together….it will be worth it, daunting but worth it.

That should keep me going and as I’m pretty much behind with half of it then that’s definitely plenty. How about you, has anything on my list jogged your memory for things you would like to get out of the way?

If you like my posts, blogs or even just the pictures then I would not be offended in the least if you subscribed to receive the regular updates. I’d actually be chuffed and honoured:)

I think my kids memory boxes are in the loft somewhere in a plastic container (bad mum) and as for painting, i need to re paint my garden fences at some point. Good luck completing your list! Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday x

  9. I love a list of goal like this, your list has reminded me that I need to complete our Advanced Passenger Information for our flights to Spain in a couple of weeks, and sort out the E111 (whatever that is?). I find that a list of goals over a long-term really helps to keep you focused, and I wish you all the luck in achieving them. I keep a monthly bucket list that I share on my blog, but sometimes find I get to the end of the month, and I’m trying to cram it all in. Jams and Chutneys sound lovely for Autumn and Winter, you can definitely do that, one year we made loads of Damson Jam and Vodka which we gave to family for Christmas. Thank you so much for joining our party at #fortheloveofBLOG. Claire x

    1. Thank you!:) oh yes I’ve tried making damson vodka and it’s amazing isn’t it, vodka, damsons and sugar, oh and a bit of patience makes a dynamite drink! I did the second part of the famous Ryanair check in today so I’m hoping that that’s one ticked off the list, we fly in 9 days time! Must be around the same time you do:) have fun!:)

  10. Sounds like a busy time!! Top of my list is to try and take Mia out a bit more to different places with her daddy as he works soooooo much, our weekends are about catching up on sleep and just seeing how each others weeks have been! 🙂

  11. The biggest thing on my list right now is to build a hen house and set up an enclosure because my husband just agreed to let me rescue some ex-battery hens! I really have no idea where to start though… #KCACOLS

  12. Wow that is a lot to achieve! I always have so many things in my head that I want to complete and really need to get them onto a list like this. I’d love to arrange a family getaway soon and I also need to think about organising my daughter’s memory box – I keep putting things away for it but haven’t actually created anything yet. Good luck with your tasks! #KCACOLS

  13. Ha ha, you’re like me – I love a list – keeps me motivated and hopefully more organised – though I keep adding to the list some days and not getting much ticked off! #KCACOLS

  14. Goodness you’re organised! I never pack away winter/summer clothing or book play dates in advance! Must be the crummy mummy in me! #KCACOLS

    1. Lol I’m sure you’re brill, that’s why it’s on my list because I think there are people that do…or pretend to;) thanks for commenting x

  15. Yore going to be busy! Love the memory box idea and the fact that your boys are excited about them! Good luck getting your jobs ticked off, it’s good to be busy! #KCACOLS

    1. Thank you, yeah the boys love them. I got the idea off my brother who has 4 kids and he has got them off to a fine art.:)

  16. Sounds like you’re going to be a busy little bee this spring! I think a list is totally useful, and a great way to keep yourself accountable and motivated. There is soooo much spring cleaning I need to do this year, but I still feel so unmotivated! I think sorting out the budget is the first on my list! #KCACOLS

  17. Busy Busy Busy! You’ve inspired me to get more organised though. I bought a meal planner (!) to set out what I’ll be doing each week and it’s really helped xx #KCACOLS

    1. Oh I like your thinking about the meal planner, I’ve aspired to but never managed!:) thanks for your comment:) x

  18. Where do I start? Me and my hubbies passports have expired so that’s one thing that needs doing. Then I have shoved tonnes of stuff in the loft that was in our youngest daughter’s room before we did her room makeover. I need to start making some cushions and soft furnishings to earn a bit of pocket money….I have tonnes of things to do to move forward with my blog and all of the social media stuff…

    Baby steps, right?!!

Good luck with your ambitious plans and thanks for sharing. #KCACOLS

  19. oh my! you’ve just reminded me of everything I still need to do too lol *sighs* And I’m so glad I’m not the only one is as unorganised with the arranging of kids and friends things… I’m useless! My poor kids haha #fortheloveofblog

    1. Yeah but we’ve got a list now that we can gaze at and say things like ‘oh I must do that’ as we sip on wine at the end of the day 🙂 I think that my kids appreciate it more when they do finally get their friends round;) thanks for your comment x

    1. Yeah, I’ve never really got my head around them!:) thanks for your comment.

  20. Ha, you’re ambitious! Good luck with achieving these – I’d love to make jam but I’ve never got round to it yet. I can definitely relate to all the pre-holiday organisation too, I find it so stressful! #PoCoLo

    1. Thanks for taking the time to comment:) People have got the whole jam making off to a fine art and are whipping them up in now time. We’ll see how far I get down the list;)
